Kokrajhar is situated in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), a beautiful and rapidly growing town surrounded by mesmerizing scenic forests and hills located in the Western part of Assam.

The town is well connected with the major cities of North-East and the mainland India with Railways having stoppage of major trains, four lane National Highway is passing nearby. The nearest airport functioning is Rupsi at around 65 kms distance and the next is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at Guwahati around 225kms away from Kokrajhar

Foundation stone of 500 bedded Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) with an intake capacity of 100 MBBS students per year was laid on 6th January, 2019.

The medical college is is established by Govt. of Assam and affiliated to Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS), Guwahati National Medical Commission (NMC) inspected KMCH on 31/01/2023. KMCH got LOI on 14/02/2023 and LOP on 22/02/2023 for admission of 100 students every year

Kokrajhar Medical College was formally inaugurated and dedicated to the nation by Honorable Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi on 14th April, 2023 from AllMS , Guwahati on virtual mode.

The academic block of Kokrajhar Medical College& Hospital building consists of the pre and para clinical departments with their class rooms and fully equipped laboratories, dissection hall, museum etc. There are three smart class rooms, skill lab, large examination hall, central library, gymnasium hall and the administrative block. The college has got highly academic and experienced faculty members and is committed to providing a comprehensive and holistic education to its students.

The administrative block comprises of Principal office, Superintendent office, establishment section, council room, medical education unit (MEU) room, store room and student's common room.

The hospital building is separate from academic building which comprises of OPD complex and indoors. It will be equipped with modern facilities including modular operation theatre, well equipped laboratories, state of the art blood bank, high powered imaging machines, Intensive care units (ICUs), central gas pipe line and many more.

The medical college shares boundary with a dedicated cancer hospital founded under the aegis of Assam Cancer Care Foundation. This institution facilitates needy patients consulted in KMCH to get immediate referral there for advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities. The college also shares its boundary with a proposed nursing college.

There is a separate campus for Principal, Superintendent and faculty residence, hostels for both boys and girls, proposed auditorium , nursing hostel, gymnasium hall and college playground- all together providing a compact, hassle free , safe and friendly environment.
